CAMWL Receives 2016 South Asian Bar Association Diversity Award

The Canadian Association of Muslim Women in Law (CAMWL) is very pleased to announce that CAMWL was awarded the South Asian Bar Association-Toronto (SABA Toronto) 2016 Diversity Award. This award seeks to recognize those who have demonstrated leadership and an outstanding commitment to the cause of diversity in the legal profession.

The award was accepted on behalf of CAMWL by co-founders and steering committee members, Fathima Cader and Imtenan Abd-El Razak, at SABA’s annual gala on November 15, 2016. Fathima gave an excellent acceptance speech in which she highlighted the need to continue to work meaningfully towards diversity and equity both within the law and society at general. A transcript of Fathima’s speech can now be found online at Slaw.

You can also find us in Law Times News, where Sharifa Khan, fellow CAMWL co-founder and steering committee member, was interviewed about the award.
