CAMWL is pleased to share that yesterday’s AGM — CAMWL’s very first! — was a great success. The evening was marked by hope, mentorship, and community.
Many thanks to our speakers, Natasha Persaud, and Imtenan Abd-El-Razik, and Shaheynoor Talukder, who described with much humour and candour in the night’s opening panel discussion, “The ABCs of Solo and Small Firm Practice,” the rewards and challenges of starting one’s own practice.
We also used the evening to update members, new and old, on the successes and initiatives of CAMWL’s first year. We are grateful to the work and support of outgoing Steering Committee members, Fatema Dada and Sharifa Khan, and we welcomed in our Steering Committee for the 2015-2016 year:
- Amina Juma
- Aziza Hirsi
- Fathima Cader
- Hodan Ahmed
- Imtenan Abd-El-Razik
- Ruba Ali Al-Hassani
- Sofia Ijaz
We look forward to another year of promoting equality in the law and beyond! For more pictures of the event, check us out on Twitter.
